Hoot at the Moon—Great Horned Owl Portrait (5×7 Gicleé Print)

This 7″ (h) x 5″ (w) Limited Edition Giclée Print on vellum paper depicts a Great Horned Owl against an aluminum leaf background looking up at the moon. (Note: aluminum was chosen instead of silver because the paper print cannot be varnished and aluminum will not tarnish.) No detail has been spared in this striking dignified pose in profile, and the owl’s personality comes to the fore. In the original oil painting upon which this is based, the owl’s ear, eye, and orbital “cheek” were embellished with gold leaf, and the artist added shell gold accents as well. For your unique print, the artist will newly hand apply silver, aluminum, and gold leaf to the print in the same places where they appear on the original painting. Likewise, shell gold touches will also be applied. This makes each print a unique ONE-OF-A-KIND piece of artwork. These prints are limited to a series of 250. Once that number is reached no more will be printed. Each print will come with the signature of the artist on paper at the bottom and a number indicating where in the series your print appears.

“Hoot at the Moon” glitters like a jewel, and the full beauty and detail of this piece of artwork are difficult to capture in photos. Please see the attached video in order to gauge the beautiful shine of the silver and gold leaf on an actual embellished print. (Yours will be a different print, again custom enhanced by the artist, but will be very similar to the one in the photos and the video.) One of the prints in the video is embellished and the other is not.
