Albino Red-Tailed Hawk Study (10″ x 8″)

This original oil painting depicts an albino red-tailed hawk named Cloudfeather. She was depicted in another oil painting by the artist called “Cloudfeather’s Dream.” The study shows the artist’s grasp of detail in an earlier stage of development and captures the subject in a more melancholy mood.

This oil painting was painted by wildlife artist Michael Scott Phillips using traditional painting methods. The work was painted on a masonite panel that provides the ultimate in stability, insuring that the painting will not deform or crack for well over a century if properly displayed and/or stored in the correct conditions. The base materials were hand-crafted by the artist prior to beginning work on the painting. All pigments used are color-fast and will not fade if protected from direct sunlight.
