Nelson the Crow (8″ x 10″)

This original oil painting depicts a crow in a moody forest of heavy sheltering trees. Every detail of this fascinating and highly-intelligent bird has been captured as he cocks his head surveying his surroundings.

This painting was painted by wildlife artist Michael Scott Phillips using traditional painting methods. The work was painted on a linen-wrapped birch panel that provides the ultimate in stability over a long period of time, insuring that the painting will not deform or crack for well over a century if properly displayed or stored in the correct conditions. All of the base materials were hand-crafted by the artist prior to beginning work on the painting. All pigments used are color-fast and will not fade if protected from direct sunlight.

The frame is rustic dark, stained wood as befitting the wildlife theme but features a silver stripe that picks up the color of the bird’s beak. The oil painting itself measures 8″ x 10″ in size.
